After all the actions you described, you'd be left with a 1/1 creature with 1 damage marked on it, but since creatures with indestructible don't die from damage, it would still be alive.

The creature will not die.

Damage dealt to creatures doesn't reduce their toughness. Rather, that damage is simply "marked" on them until the end of the turn. When a creature has an amount of damage marked on it greater than or equal to its toughness, it dies.
