You know if it wasn't Andrew... if this was some UK MP or very minor public figure... or even a prime minister, they'd be dust by now. The scandal of the association would have absolutely brought them down.

Why isn't this happening in the States?

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Prescott himself doctored Trump quote in his anti-BBC report

Let us hope that Michael Prescott's review of Michael Prescott's memo is every bit as critically rigorous as Michael Prescott's review of the edition of Panorama. Perhaps he could write another memo.
Two of the top bosses of the BBC resigned this week, after allegations in a dossier claimed Panorama had altered a Trump quote.

One problem: that dossier altered the Trump quote, too

In the UK, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's friendship with Epstein has led to total disgrace.

He's been stripped of his titles, reduced to the status of a pariah.

Nobody is defending him.

He's a TOTAL disgrace.

In America, Jeffrey Epstein's close mate, Donald Trump, remains the president.

Insane.

Can’t disagree much but I still find all of that preferable to Noncey Nigel and his hateful morons, and the brain dead nasty imbeciles left to run the Tories. I knew Starmer was charisma free because he’s a gooner and no fun, when I voted Labour and he’s dishonest because he’s a lawyer. So what?

That’s why we don’t want Farage or Badenoch.
I’m not sure what defines ‘charisma’ now. I’m told Boris Johnson,Trump, Farage, Hitler, all had charisma, so does it now mean a quality of narcissism and evil?
Starmer certainly doesn’t have that. He does have gentle humour, good plans and works hard.

Just raise income tax! Basic and higher rates!

And if you want to minimise salary sacrifice/pension dumping, bring down the 45p band to £80/90k and scrap the personal allowance withdrawal. It’ll raise more and might even be popular.

The clever thing about going for stuff like the cycle for work scheme is it’s really noticeable, affects people with lots of media access and platforms, annoys green groups, and raises almost no revenue at the same time. Real win/win/win there.

The correspondence between a NYT reporter & Epstein is extraordinary. But the NYT also has questions to answer: it fired him for soliciting a donation from Epstein. Did it not conduct any sort of investigation? Or did it just decide to not make public?

It's insane looking back those days and thinking we all collectively accepted this as normal
arguably an extreme example but my best mate in middle school dated a guy in his early twenties when she was 14 and the consensus was "eh, bit much but broadly fine" which, looking back: huh
You see people say this type of thing sometimes and tbh i think its symptomatic of the fact that if you grew up in the 90s-00s, adults going out with 16 year olds was way way more socially accepted

I don't see any value in me continuing to point to a number of things and you responding by picking one and pointing to its most depressing aspect. I have heard you and I will think about what you said, but I find your outlook borderline nihilistic and it's making me upset, which isn't constructive.

I didn't "imply" the aim is dislodging the Starmer gov't. I wrote it explicitly. The rest is your supposition. I have to note, however, that a refusal to see nuance, joining instead the chorus of "they are all the same" IS the right wing agenda - and you are inadvertently harmonising with them.

I am happy to post the full clip. I thought the juxtaposition of of you and Jenkin was revealing and amusing. No more, no less. I agree with much of what you say. I disagree with cranking the volume up to 11, which I think you did fairly consciously, because there is quite a lot of it about.

This is what is happening. It is cynical. It is strategic. It is organised. It is well funded.

And we need to pay attention.

The far right - and their cheerleaders, mimics, tribute acts, and handmaidens have identified two presentational frameworks that give them cut-through and traction. 1/7

I agree with Monbiot on the Planning Bill's underlying assumptions - they feel quite developer-led - and the Palestine Action ban was wrong, but obviously individal policies don't give a full picture - on that basis Farage half-arsed talk about water nationalisation makes him more left than Labour.

Trump is hurtling into lame duck territory.

His ratings are off a cliff. It's his second term, and the next generation of Republicans are desperately distancing themselves from him, fearing wipeout.

Nigel Farage, meanwhile, clearly hasn't noticed and thinks it's all going to be happy days ahead.
