Here's a thing I drew a while ago. In the Green Goblin's first appearance, he tricks Spider-man into thinking he's going to be in a movie. There are two panels between which they travel from Hollywood to New Mexico, and I was like, "what happened on that journey??" Well, now we know...

Up early for a couple more rides on Tower of Terror before we headed home.
The entrance to the elevator on Tower of Terror at Disneyland Paris. It's a dilapidated service elevator in a dingey basement at the Hollywood Hotel, which leads to the best ride ever.

It certainly works better with Ditko's work than it did with some of the other artists. He's the only Charlton artist I could remember, though!

I never liked the old Charlton comics with the stencilled lettering. Nowadays, it doesn't look so bad to me, but it just felt so mechanical compared to the organic elegance of, say, Artie Simek's lettering.

A similar view of how it looks today (or at least the last time I was there, 3 years ago.) You can still see at least one of the buildings from the Erich Andres photo, nestled amongst the newer buildings.

Not everyone could pull off pink and purple, but credit where its due...

Where's my "It's A Small World" horror movie, Disney, you cowards!

Apologies that this has temporarily become a Disneyland account... I'll be back to the usual comic nonsense on Friday. Anyway, this is still the best ride at any Disney park, Tower of Terror. (Although I think I prefer the Disney World version, which is a little different.)

A Disney reproduction of Paris... a few miles from actual Paris.
Bistro Chéz Remy and the Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris.

The Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery at the Marvel Hotel, Disneyland Paris. Which sadly doesn't have any original Kirby artwork, but it does have various pieces by artists I wasn't familiar with. I assume they change the art from time to time, and the hotel features various large scale original pieces.
"Jack "The King" Kirby (August 28, 1917-February 6, 1994) was a trailblazing comic book artist who breathed astonishing life into such icanic characters as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Panther and countless others.

His work changed the landscape of the superhero comic book medium and has resonated through generations.

The legacy of Jack Kirby continues to influence and inspire the next generation of artists.

Reproductions of original artwork by Jack Kirby. Original art by Rose Villalobos. Venom art by Tyler Lenaz.

(Hyper)Space Mountain is much better themed in Paris than at Disney World. Although the Star Wars overlay is pointless and the ride is still the terrible herky-jerky machine as in Florida.
Space Mountain themed in a Jules Verne "From Earth to the Moon" Victorian Steampunk look. The Nautilus and the Videorama with giant dirigible.

Up bright and early to go to Disneyland Paris, and our train's broken down halfway there. 😕

Haha, I don't blame your husband for the Inhumans thing. Taking someone to see that is grounds for divorce, surely! 😄

The app has always had odd "spasms" for me. I'll be scrolling along happily, and then it'll just jump up to the top of my feed for no reason. 🤷‍♂️

In Teen Titans #19, Doctor Light escapes from prison by "converting his mass to light waves," and then says, "I could have escaped at any time but I never really had a reason." WHAT?!? Marv could have written, "it was a desperate gambit... it was very dangerous," but no. He didn’t have a reason! 🤦‍♂️
Doctor Light switches the light on in his prison cell and uses the light to something something mass into light waves. Weirdly, I have no problem with that, because, you know... comic book science. "I could have escaped at any time, but I never really seemed to have a reason." So he stayed in freaking prison for God knows how long! Just phenomenally bad scripting by Marv Wolfman.

"Soon to be a major motion picture." House ad from Teen Titans #18, possibly overstating the terrible 1982 Wes Craven Swamp Thing movie. The following issue contained a poster for the movie.
"Swamp Thing is back!" A house ad for a new Swamp Thing series by Martin Pasko and Tom Yeates. The Swamp Thing movie poster. "Science transformed him into a monster. Love changed hi even more!" Even though the movie starred "Scream Queen" Adrienne Barbeau, I don't recall a scene where she her ate Swampy's tubers. 😬
