That group of young people had the best chance to come here and assimilate, to be successful. They'd earned it, and were in real danger if left behind. Truly relieved to have helped get them here. Very concerned for their future now. They are resilient, they've also worked hard to be American.

Concur, many from the leadership to the lowest soldier/police officer, were looking to say the right thing, angling to answer in the way they believed fulfilled our need, or checked the block. A/O Aug 2021, I worked round the clock to get as many of my ITs out as I could. Young, smart, western-ed.

I would certainly hate to be a woman there now. On that we can definitely agree. I'm not exactly thrilled being a woman here, tho.

I've read thru some of your additional comments, same subject. I'll not dispute your position that out in the rural/remote areas, they are, perhaps, more primitive. It's that the definitive statement that the culture as a whole doesn't value women is as inaccurate as it would be if said about the US.

Assigned to RSHQ as an advisor to GIRoA. I traveled to most the provinces, expanding capacity in areas of contracts mgt, talent mgt, & merit-based promotions while working to implement the Afghan Personnel&Payroll System. You? Also helped restructure inherent law, retiring a load of ANDSF.

You?

Over 700 days in country all together. I disagree with your assessment of the people in general. Broad brush strokes like that do not reflect the nuanced analysis common in the IC.

This looks pretty straightforward. This seems to be an admission by the SECDEF of a war crime even if he's too ignorant to understand it is one. No quarter is illegal even in times of actual war as far as my training indicated.

Homemade bourbon pecan pie, always better the next day.

War crime. No quarter, even in times of declared war, is a war crime.

And we're not at war.

We're talking about right now after all...

What makes you think I was implying that? Did you bother to peruse my profile at all? To run counterterrorism for the nation would require school, extensive training, and years of deep dive expertise. Please don't be a dick simply because you can be. This child is early 20s. Don't be obtuse.

Because there isn't one single clerk in my grocery store qualified to run counterterrorism for the nation.

He was also my grocery store clerk. True story. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Because it is. We rise and fall together.

That's one way to make a family problem go away. All he's focused on is his son? So fckk her? A lot cheaper than a divorce and custody fight.
