if the argument is like the paywall article oct 2nd which said
“The tax would not raise enough money 2 offset required cuts"
then it is only an argument for a bigger levy
if 10% control 50% of wealth & only the top 2 deciles r growing then services & public order also enjoyed by the rich r impaired

I think you should differentiate cereal-fed beef from low intensity pastoral grazed cattle & sheep who do so much for our more marginal lands, our uplands, fells & salt-marsh

not all lands are the same
global aggregates/stats & conclusions can fail 2 recognise small venture good practise

indeed globally esp when forests r cleared 2 grow cereal 4 beef, but there r marginal lands that are actually best served by non intensive grazing producing truly organic meat supporting rural communities in low population areas, whilst also carbon sequestering & preventing soil erosion & flooding

how does beef stack up against the oil burners, power stations, airlines etc & do appraisals take into account carbon sequestration in pasture that provides both oxygen & soil structure especially on marginal lands such as fell-side and sand marsh which are unsuitable 4 other forms of agriculture

while others taking on ex employers may have to support their own cases especially if they have no union representation

If a fee is to be levied, then it should be fairly nominal & be paid for by the Employer, should the plaintiff succeed

While a nominal fee may be nominal to some folks, it certainly isn't for many workers, who taking a stand Vs their employer is quite a financial & stressful risk

maybe Unions can advise over the merits of many cases and could assist such nominal fees

my Pa used to sit on Industrial Tribunals in Liverpool (1 of 3 on the Tribunal panel -- he represented Employers, but he told me, in almost every case, he found against Employers as "they should have known better, they should have done better; they have a duty of care for their employees.. etc
