Bleeding heart Left Coast liberal, loves animals, freedom, and kindness. Ally and safe space for all, to the best of my ability. Sarcasm and B.S. filters set to Stun by default. Brace for occasional photos of cats, flowers, gardens, and perfume.
That movie was charming until that number and then it was like WTF, it was so bad even accounting for what was "acceptable" at the time. Eugene Pallette was also a racist POS, he wouldn't sit at the same table with Black actors at the commissary. I can't watch his films anymore he was really awful.

Streetcars too! They were everywhere! They were all dismantled at the behest of the oil, rubber, and auto barons. 😭

I used to be able to go without a car but even in the city, things changed enough that I need one now. Nearby grocery stores closed, my office moved, and my own aging has made riding the bus untenable. Even with good transit, the basic infrastructure isn't built for car-free living.

My love for Jarlsberg cheese is so powerful that I would seriously consider moving to Norway, even though I hate winter. 😍

He meant it will hurt him and other rich old white men. He doesn't care about the victims being hurt, that's the part he likes.

This is a perfect encapsulation of the misery of urban winters, it says so much so simply.

How old am I? I am so old that I laughed out loud when I watched a race today and one of the horses was named Henry Gondorff. Knowing that there are other aficionados of older films out there takes the sting out of it, though. IYKYK. 😉

I am fairly certain that no one asked for AI to take over our jobs and our lives, except for a few sociopathic and entitled white men, but everything else is a product of individual ideas, public acceptance, and market forces etc. No one but me asked for some of the stuff I like, and I don't care. 😂

This entire Cabinet, but especially Kegseth, has done nothing but demonstrate their collective expertise at stepping on rakes, and even placing rakes where there were none before, and conjuring rakes out of thin air for the purpose of stepping on them. The sheer incompetence may save us yet.

One of my floral designs with bright yellow incurve Chrysanthemums and contrasting red maple foliage in a scarlet lacquered brass container. Pictured with its first place blue ribbon and Best In Show rosette. 😁 #Red

It looks like the old days, when they used put nylon stockings over the lenses of movie cameras when filming closeups of aging stars.

I have always felt a visceral aversion to him and I have avoided his work accordingly. I did not know about this, but it does not surprise me in the least. I wonder who's protecting him, there have to be victims all over the place. Hollywood needs to clean up its own.

I did my best to leave with less money, but I got lucky on the last spin of the night, so... 🙃

How does The Onion stay in business when we have real headlines like this? 🤔

Technicians of any specialty or procedure always explain what they are doing and why, and give the patient explicit instructions for what they need to do while it happens- lie still, turn this way, etc . They also ask if you understand or have any questions before it begins. Definitely all three.

Siberians have less of the protein that triggers allergies, and I believe the Devon Rex does too. There are also some new medications that treat cat allergies.

How about Cybertruck demolition derbies? Take all those unsold monstrosities, strip out all but the essentials, rig them for self-driving mode, paint them in wild colors, and have Thunderdome free-for-alls a la Battle Bots. Nobody gets hurt, and watching them destroy each other will be cathartic.

I tried to watch this but I couldn't get through it. It was weird in a way I didn't even know something COULD be weird, lol. 🧐😵‍💫😱

I first saw it when I was much too young to watch such a film- I think my mom really liked Michael Caine- but even then I liked,it a lot, and I have revisited it regularly ever since. The final scene has been imitated many times but never improved upon.

Stupid question: is Tidal compatible with auxiliary devices? I usually start my music on my phone and then switch it to play on my Google Home speaker. I can also just tell the Google thingy to play a specific song or playlist with a voice command. I want to switch, but also keep those options.
