I just finished the audiobook for Darcy Green's After the Siren and it was an absolute delight. It's so refreshing to read an Australian gay story that isn't entirely dour.

Phwoar what brilliant tv. Another great character study from the creator of Mare of Easttown. 2 episodes in and need more.

I saw JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH tonight and I'm so mad. That film is a dog's breakfast. Did no one at any point put their hand up and be like "perhaps we need to rethink this whole thing because none of it makes any sense." How did it get made?!! Who decided to include the random, awful family?

Sally Hawkins is incredible in BRING HER BACK. The film is absolutely full on.

The Andor finale was fantastic. Elizabeth Dulau's Kleya was such an intriguing character.

Holy crap SINNERS is incredible. Go see it now on the big screen while you can. What a great film.

And spoilers obviously (you've had long enough to watch it) but there was a mass shooting (!!!) and it's barely acknowledged as the guests (i.e. witnesses to a crime) leave. Character development and logics of time and basic law and order have no place in this series. Maddening stuff.

I need a cup of tea and a lie down after watching this episode

We're watching Prime Target.

It's a spy thriller about maths at Cambridge and stars Leo Woodall and Sidse Babett Knudsen. Maths isn't exactly a thrilling subject matter but it's a fun watch. I'm really struggling to find out what year it's supposed to be set in.

Love to see that Ana Lily Amirpour has directed some of The Night Agent season 2. The season is mixed so far but it has some great moments

Bloody Instagram just forced me to follow JD Vance's account. What are they doing?! Gross.

Friendly reminder that if you haven't seen SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE yet you should watch it post haste.

We wrapped up the Adelaide Queer Film Festival on Sunday and I'm so proud of what we achieved. I think the 30th anniversary screening of GO FISH was my favourite.

I had the great opportunity to speak about queer coded representation in early Australian cinema today at a symposium on LGBTQ history and memory, which included this wonderful moment in RANGLE RIVER.

Over the weekend I had the privilege of taking part in the My Formative Queers Symposium as part of MQFF, where each presenter told a story about an influential music video clip that shaped their queerness in some way.

I chose Skunk Anansie's Secretly!

Just saw the fantastic documentary A PORTRAIT OF LOVE at MQFF. It's a deeply moving film that tells the story of the late artist Craig Ruddy and his partner Roberto Meza Mont, compiled entirely from footage shot by Roberto.

I'm excited to launch my new book Agatha Christie and Gothic Horror at the upcoming SSAAANZ conference here in Adelaide

We screened the Teddy Award winning film ALL SHALL BE WELL at The Capri last night as part of Feast. It's a beautifully made film about grief and family.
