Quick question for a friend. How do you call it when a government just wholeheartedly attacks the free press? Whatever fears of a ministry of truth under any Dem you might have had, clearly this would be a good point to write those hard hitting Op-eds defending free speech and freedom of the press.

pov you ask me why gifs are so interesting.

"Mr Stark I dont feel so good".gif

Is it supposed to do that?
November 27, 2025 at 5:27 AM
Look at this bnuy losing color depht because an evil gif wizard (me) has trapped its form in an endless loop of torture.

It works but now displaying the gif doubles the memory usage, so don't do it with like 120MB gifs. Instead of a data url I use a file reader and have the source be a base64 string from the blob, which is not as great. But as long as I am a lowly free-tier neocities user, that's all I can do really.
November 25, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Argh the Content-Security-Policy from neocities does not like me displaying my gifs via a url created from the blob. Welp, guess I gotta find another way if I want a preview.

Green box gang rise up!
Who needs fancy schmancy and slick design when you have "border: rgb(0,161,3) solid 3px;" at your disposal?

In time I will probably do a UI overhaul 2.0 but I kind of like the janky look that proves I have no idea of CSS or am using any library to help me. I am somewhat proud that I managed to make this thing with ~zero dependencies and standalone. You can download it and it works even offline!

Going through some old screenshots and lmao about how mean I was in some stuff I have written for seminars in the past.

I wrote an essay for a phil course in 2020 on the usage of autonomous police robots and the possible problems wrt to the repsonisiblity gap (my writing from then is bad but it was an easy prediciton). Spot is, afaik, not yet full autonomous in every situation, but it is not missing that much.

You can now add and modify even more things. You want 13 Application Blocks? Sure; only the first one counts thos, and then only if it is before an image. There is still some context sensitive stuff I want to do, I am glad that no operation so dar should be able to break a gif when you download it.
November 19, 2025 at 5:10 AM
Also I defiently need to add more colortable shenanigans; that and some options to set values for all images at the same time.
November 18, 2025 at 6:53 AM
Definetly gonna keep the more compact style though, even if is does not necessarily reflect the actual block order in the uploaded gif. For example the first images graphic control is before the application extension, but it is not shown in that order.
November 18, 2025 at 6:51 AM
Sure, sure, just put the heat in the bag. I can already envision some fucking startup building a greenhous-datacenter combination where their AI models also "grow sustainable plant products" and "make sure that AI benefits you even in the offline world" or some other PR bullshit.
November 17, 2025 at 5:33 AM
You see, using the excess heat of my old 60 Watt lamps is another example of how they can be energy allies...
November 17, 2025 at 5:28 AM
Note to self: just because you can have a 10000*10000 image in a gif, does not mean you should try to create one, less even try to render it in a canvas.

Also my draw code runs real slow when the images get big (everything beyond ~1000*1000), need to work on that at some point.
November 17, 2025 at 3:53 AM
Why??
November 16, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Testing if I like a more compacted look where the different elements per image are in one place and next to each other.
November 16, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Me offering an energy drink in these tiring times (don't mind the colors, they are perfectly normal):

why???
November 15, 2025 at 9:46 PM
Better, but not yet what I want
November 15, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Trying to get resizing to work and uhhhh... it looks neat but clearly there is an off by n error going on
November 15, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Feature of the day: Resizing the local colortable. I kind of like it although it needs to reencode the images when it changes or else bad stuff can happen.

Next up, changing image dimensions, adding and deleting loal color tables, and lastly changes to the global colortable.
