I hope this is readable, I put some notes in

1: Put it down on paper first you can make it look better later
This was actually a scaled up thumbnail I drew kinda small. I also did a little bit of curves adjusting to get the colour vibe right

2: Sorry it’s a bit of a jump, but I just went over with a textured paint brush that I use a lot. Eyedropping the placed colours and also adjusting them a bit for fun. Colour variation can bring a lot to a painting if you think it’s looking a little flat!

[pointing to the light part of the face]: If you have harsh light , you can make it look brighter by adding a saturated colour. on skin it’s orange/red/pink because of sss, but works on other things too with other colours

3: More cleaning up the face... Helps to define edges and stuff, or making edges softer depending...

4: Every step is kind of just I rendeder some more...
Don’t be scared to use liquify to fix things and then paintover a little

If you think of the iris as a kind of coney shape, the light hits away from the light source. I think it looks neat like this

5: My tip with markings is to just use multiply, but also to paintover it afterwards, but also this is my tip for most things

6: Curves my #1 tool. I wanted it to look warmer so I made it more orangey

This soft glow is literally just airbrush + overlay layer, do this on whatever’s in bright light. I also added it to the eyes to make them pop o7
