Any other player with the football has to be tackled/touched down or run out of bounds except for QBs who can't be touched anymore the moment you think they decide to slide down to avoid contact.

But there's also a whole discussion right now about how beneficial the sliding rules really are. Bigger hits than that happen regularly in football and the concussion is only possible because they've created a second set of rules for QBs even as runners that don't apply to any other player.

It's definitely true that QBs take advantage of the rules to get an extra yard or completely fake a slide (Mahomes and Josh Allen do this) and run past a flat-footed defender. 2 things can be true. Lawrence slid late and Azeez's hit was excessive per the rulebook
