Thanksgiving high school football had disappeared by 1951, but Thanksgiving basketball was a thing. The state's smallest (non-football) schools were allowed to start practice and games in the fall. These games were from Thanksgiving 1951.

For many years, University Place v. Havelock High was a Lincoln Thanksgiving tradition.
The Uni Place Cardinals (or the Young Methodists). Later school was changed to Jackson High.
The Havelock Engineers were also called the Shopkeepers & Havelock itself was called Shoptown!
