I made my first needle felted dog! 😁☀️ It was very relaxing. Can't wait to make another! My girls went to the groomer yesterday, and she gave me 2 bags of their hair, which I incorporated into the feltie dog. 🥰 It's standing on my as of yet unfinished wet felt landscape.

I spent all day at a wet felting workshop and it was so fun!! Plus quite a physical workout. lol
I can't wait to do it again! 😁
I'll post a pic after I embellish it a bit more.
It lends itself well to my painting style because it's so expressive, and the colours are 🤩!

Having graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1990 and specialized in printed textiles, Moy Mackay developed an innovative style of felting using merino wool fibers in the same way a painter uses brushstrokes, then embellishing them with machine and hand embroidery

People who create anything will probably understand the constant need to make the ideas in our heads a reality, & the comfort and high of being "in the zone",where time doesn't matter. Nothing matters.You just get lost in making something from nothing and it's quite a rush, which makes it addictive!

I'm so drawn to textile art! I think my paintings will be good inspiration! I constantly want to learn new art techniques. It's like an obsession. Rug hooking landscapes was another thing I started getting into, but haven't done in a while. Pushing 60, it feels like ⌛️💀😖

Either I've lost my creative mojo and don't want to make anything, or I have an abundance of ideas and desire to do them, to the point it can get overwhelming and I procrastinate. It's maddening! 🫠
I need to just pick one thing at a time, but which idea? I'm adding learning wet felting next week. 🤪

Building complex layered backgrounds is relaxing and fun! I love the moodiness of this! It ended up being a super colourful piece, but revisiting this WIP photo is making me feel like trying something more moody and mysterious, with a more subdued palette than my usual, for a challenge. 🙃☀️

I’m feeling so creative right now! I have two paintings on the go, another older one I want to finish, and a few others in my brain waiting to be born. I have a few new techniques I want to try, plus want to revisit ones I haven’t done in ages. It’s good, but also, I can’t get to sleep! 🤪

I had such a nice time at the local arts council open house tonight! I met some lively and lovely people, had great conversations and signed up for a wet felting landscape class that I think will suit my painting style perfectly! I’m looking forward to trying it out. Textile art fascinates me! 😊☀️
