It takes courage to be vulnerable and truly see the emotional capacity of those around you. The patience it needs, the compassion and empathy it demands of you but we need to take those risks or nothing will change. Sometimes we won't connect and it'll hurt, but we will heal and try again.

It was difficult but over a long period of time have cultivated male friends I can comfortably tell I love them, care for them and want to see them thrive and I wouldn't change it for the world.

My hopes for the coming year are that we can finally start embracing our brothers, start expressing our feelings of vulnerability to one another and walking others back from paths of cruelty. Men need to start seeing the value in their friendships beyond being mere unfeeling acquaintances.
