As someone who has leaned pretty heavily into trying to productively (and hopefully responsibly) leverage LLM code generation, it was nice to spend some time tracking down and squashing a LiveState bug that the coding robots couldn't possibly understand. Release forthcoming :)

This is Cincinnatus the Roman our city was named after. He is returning the symbol of leadership called a fasces (the root of the word fascism) to return to a life of farming, thus becoming AFAIK history’s first anti-fascist

I hope some of these disaffected #Ruby folks will give #ElixirLang a fresh look

So many Elixir developers come from Rails including Elixir's creator José Valim

So there seems to be a lot of cursor unhappiness these days, and that inspired me to check out Roo Code based on a recommendation. Its an OS VSCode extension (BYOM api key). Brief experiments with claude 4 doing work on a phoenix app went well, FWIW. Gonna keep digging in: roocode.com
Roo Code – Your AI-Powered Dev Team in VS Code
Roo Code puts an entire AI dev team right in your editor, outpacing closed tools with deep project-wide context, multi-step agentic coding, and unmatched developer-centric flexibility.

Thank you to all who weathered the [literal] storm last week for @superchris.launchscout.com talk about helping teams adopt AI. What we liked best was that it felt like a true meetup. It ended with everyone sitting down, chairs turned toward the center, honestly sharing and listening to each other.

Really surprised no one thought to name their LLM Mr. MeSeeks. Seems like a missed branding opportunity.

Due to the AI revolution, we programmers may write less code ourselves, but we still have to read it if we want to be responsible. Choosing a human friendly and readable programming language is still important. That's why I am betting on Elixir and Phoenix #MyElixirStatus

Not to quibble, but this isn't deportation, this is exile. And it's *illegal*.
This line is going to stick with me for a very long time.

“One of them is a 4-year-old with Stage 4 cancer who was deported without medication or the ability to contact their doctors…”
Three U.S. citizens, ages 2, 4 and 7, swiftly deported from Louisiana
The cases have renewed concerns that the Trump administration’s expedited deportations are violating the rights of both citizens and noncitizens.
