Didn't happen in his first term. They even re-elected him. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

This includes council tax spending, which is significantly higher in London and can only be spent locally. Yes, spending per capita is higher. But tax per capita is much higher. I've already given you the ratios. 1.27 to 0.73 tax paid for every £ of public spending.

I think you've lost track of the point, mate. Below is how it started. I will say, though, privatising rail was a disaster. You mentioned Germany. Not only is their long-distance rail govt owned, they also own Arriva. UK tax £'s flooding out of the country. Don't get me started on utilities...

Have you read the rest of the thread? London gets more investment because it generates more money. As a %age, London keeps much less of what it generates than any other region. London & the SE are the only regions that have a surplus. Everywhere else runs a deficit. London funds the rest of England.

You mean this FIFA? This is a joke, right? The same FIFA who held the last World Cup in Qatar?? They're more corrupt than MAGA 😂

It's a cherry-picked statistic and quite misleading. That spending isn't all from public funds. London is the only English city where public transport isn't funded day2day by Central govt. It also generates far more income per capita, as Londoners are far more reliant on the network.

Have been visiting the Motherland for the past week. Genuinely thought every bar I went to could somehow tell that I deserted Birmingham for London many moons ago and were ripping me off as penance. Turns out they were not. When the hell did this happen??? #Birmingham #beer #wtf

I said this elsewhere earlier, so we're agreed on the 1st part. I'm not sure you realise what you're suggesting with the 2nd part. Government interference with the freedom of the press? Like Russia? China? North Korea? And what Trump is trying to do?

I've been a few times. Easier to get to than Wembley and MUCH easier to get to than Villa Park. When the redevelopment is complete, VP will host a lot more events. Part of the redevelopment is a massive upgrade to the local transport network, which isn't fit for purpose.

Villa have literally done this.
September 25, 2025 at 10:47 AM
Can't speak for Newcastle, but Villa's owners have spent a fortune on infrastructure. As well as the redevelopment of Villa Park (£125m), they've invested heavily in the training ground and the academy. Including an inner city complex for kids who can't get to Bodymoor Heath.

I'm getting blocked by people constantly. No idea why.
