This is just state-funded intimidation meant to be financially burdensome. Shameful and partisan behavior by Hannaway.

Very similar to the language used in the SCOTUS opinion of Euclid v Ambler Realty

The rest of the neighborhood started filling in gradually with the bulk happening after the 1890s - 1900s (here is a map from 1894 where you can see the parts that were still orchards and didn’t have any roads)

The second was McRee City, which developed around the Tower Grove RRS (originally called Taylor Wick Station) after the 1860s.

There were 2 initial points of development in what is today FPSE: 1. Rock Spring which was settled in 1830 and was where travelers would stop to freshen up at the springs before continuing on the last few miles journey into the city.

C-8 was mostly built out between 1901-1904 as worker housing for the World’s Fair. Rock Spring was the small Black community.

Here’s an example of some of the old housing that was in D-3. It was demolished mid-century to create the playground for Adams.

D-4 had a small Black community but D-3 and C-8 were mostly German immigrants. The oldest housing was in D-3. B-8 was Gibson Heights, which had deed restrictions on height and material (brick).

Not sure how this “coding error” excuses the fact that the VTD is listed in both CD 4 and 5 in the text of the bill.

What are the implications of the bill having the same voting precinct in 2 districts? Seems like more than just a scrivener error.

I’m kind of wondering if the actual request was that they should send them to help with tornado debris removal, which we’re still waiting to hear back about! The city has been told it will cost $700M.

Bailey sucks but Montgomery handcuffed and kidnapped the jail commissioner b/c she denied him access to a detainee that had been r*ped by a sheriff’s deputy. Please don’t legitimize his claims he did nothing wrong.

@rudikellermi.bsky.social Does MO even have the ability to do a mid-census redistricting? Art III, Sec. 3.c of constitution seems to imply redistricting is only allowed following decennial census OR "in the event that a redistricting plan has been invalidated by a court of competent jurisdiction".

Guess the charter school affiliated Early Childhood Education people are going to make another run at adding another sales tax in the city. This would be on top of the ECE property tax and the tax money for Mental Health Board (which despite its name is for youth services).

The site of the old Carter Carburetor plant. In 1942 they employed 2,700 people, none of them Black. TD McNeal organized marches protesting the discrimination. It would take 2 more years before Carter allowed Black people to work their production lines.

@hurricanexyz.bsky.social @chrisgeidner.bsky.social do you know what sort of track record Pam Bondi’s brother has had since she was confirmed? These are the biggest slumlords in St. Louis.
