Some pics from Avi, Alex, and Scott's visit to Seoul. Learned so much at both SNU Symposium on Neural Circuits for Thermoregulation (and feeding behavior ;) + #icomes2025. Thanks for inspiring science, great conversations, and fun times! Many thanks as well to my amazing students and staff as well.

The legendary mouse-brain cake with “optic fiber” candles and a “laser stimulation” demo at our lab’s 10th anniversary 🤣🧠🔥
From a tiny seedling to a fruitful tree — all thanks to you. Deeply grateful!

A drop of milkshake takes a wild ride as it passes through the body. Rachel and Kiersten and the team came up with cool strategies for visualizing food passing through the mouse GI tract and mapping the activity of the same 100s of brainstem neurons across weeks during feeding and other behaviors.

Recognized for "the discovery of light-gated ion channel mechanisms and the development of optogenetics."
Honored to have had him as my PhD advisor (2009–2013)—was a true privilege to witness his groundbreaking work transform neuroscience.
Can’t wait for the ceremony on Mar 18!
