Hi all!
Despite my lack of presence recently I'm very much alive. Life has been mostly work and trying to navigate everything so my own art took a major pause. All the spare time is spent resting and socialising away from the workstation. It will probably continue bit more. Thank you! #fantasyart

Is it the waxy, rubbery feel? It seems like it went from, 'my god my eyes!' with the bloom light reflecting off of everything, to 'these scales are not very shiny at all'

The vfx shots from Mufasa were too perfect to pass on a quick mock up since the skin color was just spot on for an average Ligrys.
It will be a big help going forward with lighting.

Guess who got access to a decade old zbrush model and is refining it now? The body is supposed to have slight differences to humans. It will become more apparent with time. The head was the most needed update

A couple of days ago I posted a link to the Durin's Song which has been making rounds on YT. I liked it so much I had this sudden image of a new easkull character singing some of the parts along with my current guys. And there we have it! Still settling on overall colors.

Leah is coming out better and better! I've come to accept the painterly vs quick draw versions will differ in the end. I like the realistic versions when I picture it as a movie, compared to the more Disney/2d feature for the expressiveness and ease of drawing them repeatedly.

Today I finally dug up my gouache paints. And the first victim to practice on is this old watercolor painting of a golem from my story.
Currently it's still a wip but it's getting there. I adore that I can lay on any color on top of the other. Great paints!
