Software engineer at Superhuman. French-American living in California. I eat squares of dark chocolate all day long. Current hobbies are learning Spanish on #Duolingo and doing some #embroidery in the evening.
Pinned
Done! It only took four months! 😅
It’s only the third kit I’ve done, but much more challenging than the other two. (and hopefully the most challenging for a bit)
I still need to rinse the blue line. I’ve also changed to a wooden hoop but the size seems slightly smaller…

I’ll say it again: the two-party system in the US is a disaster and an embarrassment.

It’s a manifestation of this weird manichean belief in everything. You have to be in one of these two camps! Red or blue? Good guys or bad guys? No subtlety or depth.

So basic and simple-minded it’s embarrassing.

That last sentence…
“For people without access to credit, that could be a blessing.” Some journalists love to end up on a positive, non-fact-based opinion I guess.

“Some might argue that face-based analysis is more meritocratic than processes which reward, say, educational attainment”

What now?

You know when someone is telling you something absolutely ridiculous and you have to call them out on it?

Take out your phone, interrupt and say "I'm sorry, but I'm calling bullshit", call 1-906-I-CALL-BS, and put it on speaker.

That's 1-906-I-CALL-BS. (save it on your phone under "Bullshit")

This type of stories are frightening and infuriating honestly.
I can easily picture a judgmental weasel who never questions himself.

Dan Brown??? Ridiculous.

They should ask Danny Ocean, the master of heists.

Uncle Joey, about this nonsense: cut it out.

IMO they also need to explain what that means in practice.
I remember well during the campaign when their consultants authorized them to start using the word. But they never explained why they said that and what that meant.

Control of the press, speech, abuse of law enforcement and DOJ, etc.
Someone tell the Democratic Party that fascism is, in fact, a kitchen table issue

It turns out it didn’t fully fix it. It’s much better, but it’s still acting up sometimes. 🤷🏻‍♂️
One thing I really enjoy is fixing things, especially when the thing to fix and the fix itself are cheap.
I had this fan that was mostly working but sometimes struggled to get started. Turns out it’s a capacitor issue which can be replaced for $3 and 20 minutes.
Better than getting a whole new fan.

“Well it reflects society”

It’s really sick how this piece of garbage gets away with calling every black person he doesn’t like “low IQ” with just no scrutiny.

Every. Single. One.
Yes, we get it: the mayor of Chicago is negroid. Melanated. Dark skinned-ed. Black. Next insult please.
Trump on Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson: "Low IQ. Very low IQ. And we don't need low IQ people."

I’m not really loving this whole get up/eat/drop off/work/eat quickly between meetings/work/figure out a million things/fix things/pick up/figure out food/eat/clean/waste time because you’re too tired/sleep poorly thing that’s been going on.

Then it’s not like there’s ever a reprieve or rest.

100%
Even the people who are currently benefiting from what’s going on know that things shouldn’t be working this way on a fundamental level. Things are really broken.
Not to diminish law review articles & law school committee work, but right now law professors should be working collectively on an intellectual & service project of immense, existential importance: building consensus around a revolutionary constitutional framework-of a Reconstruction 2.0 magnitude.

Today I discovered that Semaphore’s envvar SEMAPHORE_GIT_BRANCH is not the current #git branch but the upstream branch. So for a PR that would be main. 🤦🏻‍♂️
We had a number of uses that expected it to be the current branch because of course, and that explained some odd behaviors I was seeing.

Not sure who said it but there should be something about how the president shouldn’t be able to sue anyone or anything while president.
Being president is an immense privilege and should come with limitations in other places.
Something happens where you legitimately deserve to sue? You can resign.
Earlier this year, we published an article headlined “10 Ways to Enrich the Trumps and the MAGA Movement.”

We failed, though, to consider that the president might simply force the US government, i.e. us taxpayers, to straight-up pay him hundreds of millions of dollars. Our bad.
Report: Trump demands taxpayers hand him $230 million
Is it still "ridiculous that anyone would even suggest" that he's cashing in?

Food trends don’t happen by accident. For example, air fryers brands have repeatedly sponsored influencers to sell more units. There are tons of examples of that.

So yeah, the sous vide trend didn’t happen in a vacuum.
