Alexis Sara (she/her)
Alexis Sara is a writer exploring topics of queerness, social change and kicking ass with love. She is a proud trans lesbian latinx/e polyamorous woman. Her work includes the Yuisa Revolution setting for Thirsty Sword Lesbians and several award-winning anthology comics.

Felix D'Eon (he/him)
Felix is a Mexican-American, Native, mixed race, (white and Wixarica), and queer. He creates art of queer love and pride, including Lotería D’Éon, a queer reimagining of the traditional Lotería card game, and The Cihuatlan Oracle, a tarot deck of feminine icons from the sacred stories of Mexico and Central America.

Oscar Montoya (he/him)
Oscar is a queer Latino actor and comedian. He is best known for playing Delloso De La Rue on Dimension 20's A Court of Fey and Flowers and Richie in the HBO comedy series Minx; he’s also the co-host of the Drag Her podcast.

A woman may be dismissed when explaining rules, while a woman of color may also face racial stereotyping. Games may include gay characters, but rarely queer disabled characters of color. Players using mobility aids face access barriers; & a queer disabled person of color also faces microaggressions.

August is Intersectionality Awareness Month. Overlapping identities can shape privilege and discrimination in personal life and gaming. Intersectionality shows how race, gender, class, sexuality, and ability overlap, creating unique challenges for people with multiple social identities. For example:

A diverse group of people with different races, genders, ages, and abilities stand together smiling. Visible identities include people wearing hijabs, people with different skin tones and hairstyles, a person using a wheelchair, a person with a guide dog, someone using a tablet, and a person with an implant.
