i think it's a perfectly fine stance to state you back something up without wanting to play it. it's very condescending to push something as if it's the ultimate truth and you're missing something "special". life is subjective and consists of missed things you don't know exist.

i wish 2 and 3 were on switch so people had to do the artifact run for 3 different games

i want to clarify that after 18 years expectations were high. mine, personally, weren't, so the fact that i'm extra disappointed makes me a little sad. you could slap any other 3d adventure game as the label on this game and it would make no difference

lol there's just... spots in the hub where you go to get upgrades. no mystique or mystery to any of this. i figure ill play it down the line but this all just does not feel like a metroid game

"realism" is the death of a lot of series, huh

if you want more : age of empires 4, phantom brigade is single player but has some neat gimmicks, sins of a solar empire 2 is more SoSE (genuine mix of 4x and rts), age of empires 2 (this one is cheating a bit but constant expansions is good and that game rocks)

they're doing the RTS equivalent of "call of duty SUCKS now!!!!" when there's more games than ever to play and choose from, and 2025 was incredible in terms of game releases despite constant layoffs and studio closures.

and investing in that kind of infrastructure is daunting for the average person. effectively proving OP's point.

broken arrow, tempest rising, stormgate are the biggest 3 i can think of the top of my head, if you include big series (which you don't seem to want to, for some reason!) we have way more, but it circles back to the point OP made : pvp makes every game worse because these games require online
