🇹🇼 "Nihao!"...suddenly you're a Chinese expert?🤯
One word gets endless praise! In Taiwan, foreigners' Chinese skills are often misjudged. You speak Chinese, they answer in English. Learning needs courage💪, but learners need patience. Let's help Chinese learners feel heard!✨

Why is Chinese so different?!🙄

I hear this a lot! But that’s what makes learning fun. Language differences show how people think and reflect their culture.

🌏✨ Instead of frustration, enjoy the surprises—language opens a whole new world!

"Huh?" in Chinese is 蛤 (há). It can mean:

🔹 Confusion:I don’t understand.
🔹 Surprise:Really?
🔹 Didn’t hear clearly:What?

Don't panic when you hear it—just check the tone and expression! 😆

Procrastination (tuōtuō lālā), a word my student loved for its cute sound, now decorates her wall as a 3D phrase. She redefines it as relaxation, uncovering priorities and sparking creativity.
For example, her unplanned decision to relearn Chinese became an unexpected way to relieve stress.

Míyuè cake is when parents buy oil rice or a cake to give to family and friends to mark the occasion. If it’s a boy, oil rice is usually given, filled with various ingredients to symbolize a life of richness and excitement. For a girl, a cake is given, wishing her a sweet and happy life. 👶👧

Why is Santa Claus holding a knife?

Don’t worry, it’s not a horror movie —it’s knife therapy(刀療, dāoliáo)! This is a type of folk healing method that uses knives as a medium to channel energy to specific areas of the body. Unlike acupuncture, it’s a non-invasive treatment. Have you ever tried it?

A common winter family activity: picking tangerine(採橘子cǎi júzi 🍊)
It’s a classic childhood memory for many Taiwanese. Taiwan boasts a wide variety of tangerines, and in recent years, some people have even started repurposing tangerine peels into dishwashing soap.

🧋Taiwanese people's dedication to fine food is well-known far and wide. We love to add new elements or modify traditional foods to create innovative variations! We have bubble tea flavored cakes or egg rolls, but this is the first time I've seen a bubble tea face mask! Would you dare to try it?
