I’d like to know if the woman who died, had disobeyed any orders lately.

Bcuz of course the only death - was a woman.

What’s a hot dish??
I prefer crunchy potatoes, instead of crunchy turkey ~ so I tried cooking it yesterday & shredding it! 😂 totally worked!! Now I’ll throw it in individual pies with cheese & bacon & veggies ~ it felt so much easier than other thanksgivings

(2/2) These small businesses (all over country) were being almost forced.. to use this marketing. It was getting kinda mafia-ish ~ I was confused how it all happened at once.

I didn’t know, then, most local publications were under 1 or 2 umbrella companies.

It was very strange & never felt ethical

I have a small, unique insight here. My career was in early webdesign, before templates. Before Google could track analytics by location.. >.> & it seemed like all local news papers switched, hardcore, to advertising. Quickly

Is this the bill you’re talking about? Just trying to be sure, before I keep an eye on it too ~

I watch those old movies about journalists & what really breaks my heart is ~ they saw it coming, they HAD to have. To have your instincts trained to the pulse of society…. it seems impossible NOT to

They are some of the few who see the end of their own tunnel

Agreed. It’s also probably easier to kidnap children, if there’s no car sensors.

Sure. With one less penis.

Redemption doesn’t replace consequences.

Consequences are needed, it is the 1st step of any “redemption” - imaginary or otherwise.

✨TASTE TEST✨
The end result? I’m shocked to say, egg wash wins!!! The crust was obviously more sturdy & had texture!

Adding a coat of butter (or oil) on top + then a thin layer of seasonings (salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder) made a solid flavor difference.

Egg wash brushed on after that

Raw potatoe definitely looked kinda .. bloaty 😅 tasted a smidge soggy too ~ so pre-cooked is the way to go!!
November 24, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Pre-cooked crusts were done after 30 minutes!!! And they look ✨GOOD✨

This is a breakfast style 😅 eggs, sausage, veggies

The curved pieces at the top of the crust.. look.. SO cute!!!! 🥰

BATCH #2:
I’m … going ahead and testing a raw potato vs pre-cooked potato crust! 😳 I’m so nervous!!! I really should’ve tried this tomorrow..

Anyway, I used:
1. raw + oil m
2. egg yoke wash (+oil)
3. the prettiest crust! which was Yukon + butter

~ in oven now ~

TASTE UPDATE:
Sooo both salt-bath (Yukon & Russet) absolutely were just … like eating chips 😂 we just snacked & they’re gone!!

Completely not a “crust” recipe.. didn’t hold together at all. Great chips tho!
November 24, 2025 at 8:14 PM
I don’t throw out food, so these will be lunch “pies” & breakfasts for awhile ~ I don’t even know yet if cooking the food in a raw vs pre-cooked potatoe-crust is better??

✨more experimentation to come!!!✨
November 24, 2025 at 7:17 PM
Some cute close ups of the prettiest Yukon (+butter, no salt-bath)

And russet (+butter, salt-bath)

And egg wash …. I have mixed feelings.. must taste, soon
November 24, 2025 at 7:16 PM
And here they are!!! 28 minutes in the oven & looking gorgeous!!!

1ST IMPRESSIONS:
Oil vs butter seemed equally singed <which I think is good>

Egg wash add-on looks weird, but we’ll see how it tastes.

Salt bath definitely isn’t sticking to each other a well.. hm hm. They also shrunk more.. gaps..

Quick note to self of each experiment ~ I keep them in this grid setup during prep, cook & cool

Salt bath potatoes were more pliable & easy to form along the cast iron.

Other test ~ brush with oil or butter?

Also, all 6 have half salt & pepper <nearest handle>
November 24, 2025 at 7:11 PM
One russet filled 2 cast irons. So I tested salt bath vs none (same with 2 Yukons).

*Tip* a salt bath draws out extra moisture & starch! I use a salt bath with potatoes for big wedge fries & morning potatoes.

But! Starch should help hold potatoes together!
— so will a salt bath help or hinder?
November 24, 2025 at 7:09 PM
BATCH #1:
6 mini cast irons + 5-ish potatoes

My mandolin produces thicker slices than I’d prefer, and did not always curve to the cast iron.

Also, it didn’t fit a russet. So any rectangle slices were made by a simple hand-peeler, until it fit & the mandolin did the rest.
