As an ex-mormon, it's very jarring to go from having built-in community to nothing, so a lot of ex-mormons have learned how valuable the work of intentional community building is. (Obviously there are also cultural elements within the church that contribute, but I think leaving is a part of it)

The problem is that there aren't actually "red states" and "blue states". They're all purple states (that include a lot of people who are fed up with how right-leaning and anti-working class BOTH parties have become). We need to be able to form coalitions across state lines.
