Eighty degrees while wearing fatigues sounds pretty miserable to me.

Actually being abroad is amazing. People are quite sympathetic of our plight when we tell them we’re not MAGA. I do plan on deleting all my social media apps from my phone before we return.

I’m on vacation in Portugal. I don’t want to go back to the US. This will probably be the first time in my life where I’m not happy to be home.

Such a bummer about Rob Schneider. He’s in a lot of my favorite dumb comedy movies.

I have quite a few younger friends (late 20s, early 30s). Most don’t drink often, none of them are socially isolated. They just don’t care to drink as much. Insisting on alcohol use as a sign of having a healthy social life is weird.

For the record, I drink. I just don’t think everyone needs to.

Nah. I’ve noticed that younger people just don’t drink the way I did in my 20s. Most people I meet who are around that age might have a drink once in awhile, but they’re not partying every weekend the way my friends and I were. I think it’s a positive trend.

I know right.

Hands do work better. Sometimes the sharp edges on the egg shells will break the yolk. I do usually use the shell just out of habit though.

I was at a buffet on a cruise and a woman became very angry at me for exactly what you just described… I picked up a single piece of cheese, and didn’t touch anything else. I was so taken aback I don’t think I managed anything other than “sorry”.

He was helping bust a union waaaaaay before he supported Trump.

I’m not going to bother with your “replacement theory” comment because it’s just more racist propaganda. I hope you manage ti become a better person. Maybe try emulating that Jesus guy that the right loves to go on about.

They said the same things about the Irish and Italians. Sometimes it takes a generation or two, but new groups eventually become part of the American fabric. Considering that we are literally a nation of immigrants, pretending that we’ve ever really had some sort common culture is in itself flawed.
August 4, 2025 at 10:34 PM
I forgot to add, immigrants pay taxes despite not being able to receive government services, to the tune of billions. They can’t even receive tax returns if they overpay. Thats the opposite of being a charity case.
August 4, 2025 at 10:19 PM
You know why there’s no unions for farm laborers? Citizens don’t want to do those jobs, no matter how much money you offer them. And in case you’re not paying attention, the US has a declining birth rate and is below replacement level. We literally need immigrants to support our economy. (2/2)

Jesus Christ you’re damaged. They’re not coming here for charity. They’re coming here to work. If it wasn’t for the US constantly fucking around with south and central American governments and economies over the past several decades, maybe some of those people wouldn’t be in such dire straights. 1/2
