I am coming over here from the bird-gossip site. Under construction. Uggh I hate moving.
Also I can't wait to mine this thread for my own reading purposes.

C.L. Polk's "Even Though I Knew the End." I started it on the day I had three flights and finished it right after the first one. Really well-paced.

Also as a teacher of small humans I count the picturebooks I read. (Just once per though.)

contextualize the skills and how we impart them to children.

Like there's research that indicates a child who struggles to skip might also encounter reading challenges, so an early childhood gymteacher can learn to be a good lookout for kids who might need intervention (academic and physical).

I really did though! And I checked out the back window and thought, "Doesn't look like a snow day anyway." Once I saw it WAS a snow day, I checked out the front - it looks more like a snow day from there.

Libraries are attention infrastructure. Free internet, quiet space, programs—all designed to support focus without monetizing it. Every other place you spend attention extracts something in return. Libraries just give.

Rodman Library in Alliance Ohio. But I know they aren't the first/only library that does this. My mother just found out her local library does the same thing with museums more local to her. Great for when the grandkids/niblings come visit!
