if you have a flow like in ue blueprints you can scope values by making them merge into the flow, then hovering on any field where they're used would show the entire scope (and you can easily show a barrier for where the scope of it ends)

that middle thing is a breakpoint btw

finally seeing the new tron movie soon!!!!

dang people are getting censored on the openai subreddit for saying that video generation models can't really handle that specific of prompts

i know right??? i'm the worst of the edge cases in XR and yet i still have dedicated 6 years to it hahaha

this photo isn't the best but it shows kinda what I mean, that eye is almost permanently dilated to a certain extent and it has a crater adjacent to the pupil making it effectively not a circle

is this what you were thinking of?
September 28, 2025 at 2:43 AM
was it similar to this?
September 28, 2025 at 1:21 AM
that's not too hard, using mSDF glyphs gives the most perfect font rendering at an angle that can be done

the final pass is inside the XR runtime to apply a shader to undistort the image so that the optics re-distort it and you see a rectified image so i can't...

undistortion shaders can use anything from polynomial to mesh warp to piecewise functions like the image

for context this is my main monitor's ppd and my side code monitor's
September 27, 2025 at 9:16 PM
also this screenshot is 1080p stretched over 90deg horizontally with the text to the side of the lens, which does line up with common headsets... but keep in mind there are simply not enough pixels in that area, i mean look at this measurement! that's 41px, how can any text be readable in that width
September 27, 2025 at 8:41 PM
ok i found the screenshot this is from and if i put myself in a position with the same visible size of my monitor's text (running the same app, prism launcher) the text is barely readable there too

if I wasn't constantly fixing up the backend I'd love to... fun stuff like this haha

got any more tips for making great examples like you do?

like this thing is all done using the UI toolkit

it sounds neat in the abstract but look at all the boring as hell code...
September 26, 2025 at 10:12 AM
I know about that algorithm, I had an adventure in state space with it :D

I'm working on Gaussian splatting actually, so layering is more easily achievable by putting gaussians in front or behind each other with different colors...

gsplats also have the nice natural property of looking impalpable by default and being inherently volumetric

so what do you think?
August 27, 2025 at 7:35 PM
:3 you nailed it though
August 10, 2025 at 8:39 PM
turns out gaussians can have a near zero cost fake motion blur :D

just orient them towards the direction of motion, move them to centerpoint between last frame and current frame, then stretch!! and don't forget to reduce the opacity :D

good food is good food
June 30, 2025 at 11:28 AM
here eat a higher quality version then!!! :3
June 15, 2025 at 5:49 AM
gaussian splatting isn't just for 3D reconstruction, it's its own art form!!!
June 14, 2025 at 9:48 PM
well I'm kinda making mine for AR/VR and so am thinking I want the base elements to be made of dust/gas as it's impalpable and then when it's active or interacted with it is energized and becomes plasma... and Gaussian Splatting fits that perfectly (attached is an unfinished redesign of the logo)
June 13, 2025 at 1:16 AM
you can also make it have super cool effects like making it heat up like a rocket thruster and unlike fixed particles it'll feel sharper
May 29, 2025 at 2:27 AM
oh yeah like the Gaussian splatting art I've been doing!! the center astroid is only 12 splats (billboarded for now)

it's such an amazing technique that more people should use

him literally ricing with hyprland and teaching ME things about linux? like what in the hell systemd-analyze is a thing? and this mess is why my computer takes 47s to boot????
