I've been thinking about doing a booth at a con where I'm a fey and I sell adventurer insurance to adventurers and I force everyone who comes up to my booth to roleplay with me, but this is like... a plan for smaller cons that won't really charge me for booth space, hahaha

I assume Jet Set Satellite is *completely* unknown outside of Canada, but they're also a Winnipeg band specifically, so idk if the rest of Canada ever heard more than their big single. I love them, but they make the most sense when you can place them in the late 90s/early 2000s Canadian rock milieu.

yeah it's extremely normal and extremely possible (easy, even) to have critical opinions about the choices made within a work of art without dismissing the work as not being art, or disregarding its creator as though the work created itself

whereas the author list in the side or back of a book just doesn't trigger the same ACTUAL HUMAN PEOPLE DID THIS!!! response in the reader. audio/video multimedia creators get to be people and artists, while games are created by corporations and it's just PUBLISHER NAME who "made" the game

yeah idk I think it's something about seeing the face and/or hearing the voice of an audio/video multimedia creator that just triggers the relationship chemicals in the brain for folks, and then once the relationship chemicals are going they'll spend money bc there's A PERSON for them to SUPPORT

yeah! it's such a struggle for me at PAX that there's no names on badges, so I'm stuck doing "excuse me, are you so-and-so?" approaches & the accompanying anxiety of 'what if they're not so-and-so, maybe I should just not bother this potential stranger actually 😭'
