I think everybody in the fandom can relate.

I’ve been managing not to cry since all the tears I had last night while listening, but your post definitely undid me. Beautiful art, and thank you for the wonderful image description.

I also finally got to watch it recently and had a great time. I’m not a big Superman fan in general, so I was pleasantly surprised, and I thought all the actors were amazing!

I think it was the perfect balance of detail and whimsy without being so long that someone would forget what you were describing.

For me, Bert Bert is extremely comforting. It’s nice to know that even characters in someone else’s story wonder the same sorts of things that I do when I am figuring out how to tell people about the way I experience the world, the connections I make, The truth I carry, and all the rest.

Finally got around to listening to episode 56 of @malevolent.ca My heart hurts, but I am as always, so profoundly grateful for the story. Thank you, Harlan.

These are delightful, and exactly what I needed. Also, thank you so much for the amazing image descriptions.

Yes! They hugged, and though that doesn’t solve all the feelings I am feeling, they got to share a hug, and it was beautiful. Ow.

Completely worth it, even if it’s only used for its intended purpose once or twice a year when I have a chance to go to an orchard.

I went #ApplePicking today at Park Hill Orchard in Easthampton MA. 🍏🍎 Besides the awesome weather and abundance of good fruit, they also had those classic woven wood baskets available. So, now I’ll have yet another vessel in my apartment that will most likely end up holding craft supplies…

It’s great! I just started season 4, and as a space and time nerd who didn’t have a lot of friends in school, it’s extremely fun and cathartic. I think it teases out the complex magical, moral, and/or scientific problems really well.

There’s so much more I could say after finishing season 3 of #MidnightBurger but for now, I will leave it at, “Fangs out!”
tenwordsproject.bsky.social
It’s a little absurd how fantastic the show is. I’m so happy it exists.

I found @midnightburger.bsky.social while scrolling for podcasts two nights ago. I’m already starting season 3, and the show is delightful. A wonderful mix of goofs, genuine attempts at connection, and lots of science facts and theories That really scratch the nerdy itch. Highly recommend.

That makes a lot of sense, though I also hope you never actually lose your vision, having a plan and understanding what options and resources are available to you can definitely help assuage some of that anxiety.

Yes. Rereading The Giver and Gathering Blue was very cathartic for me. I didn’t actually get around to Messenger or Son until recently. I Loved finally getting to finish the series, and it’s been a lot of good food for thought.

Also, depending on what amount of remaining vision you have, there are digital magnifiers that range from slightly bigger than an iPhone, to something that folds out and you can fit a whole textbook beneath it. I use a larger one to read what isn’t brailled.
tenwordsproject.bsky.social
I’ve experimented with braille shorthand so I could get all of the pertinent information onto a sticker that is attached to a sleeve for a specific card, but sometimes there is so much text. So at the moment, I just have the name, mana cost, Card type, and power and toughness if it’s a creature.

I’m currently working on a creative nonfiction, personal essay, piece inspired by The Giver and other books by Lois Lowry. It’s always nice to know other people were impacted by the same stories.

Howdy.

For me, updating social media is a practice in overcoming anxiety, that self limitation, that corrective impulse.

So, I will share my Ten Words daily writing goal here, somewhat regularly, and updates when an entry is turned into essays or poetry on Substack.

Thanks for reading.
