Awesome to see 48 people in the room for the first ever Spack User Meeting at the @hpsf.bsky.social conference!

Greg Becker is outlining the road to v1.0 in the opening session.

Does ASP count? This derives the min depth of a node in a DAG, based on the set of parents.

Grounding recursive rules is expensive, though--you have to bound it with max_depth so that it doesn't explode.

Choices, conditionals, cardinality rules, and opt criteria all use sets in ASP.

Kind of unfortunate that Rust and Zig are nearly the same color on GitHub.

Aaaaaand finally turned this off in macOS Sequoia. Apparently I drag windows to the menu bar a lot, and continued to be baffled as to why they expanded to fill my whole screen.

Maybe I’ll make a thread of these.

“Starship is much larger than a submarine”

Starship: 165ft
Sub: 400-500ft

To be fair, with booster, starship is ~400ft. Still not “much larger”. Also unclear: why it’s talked about crush depth 🤨

FWIW, ChatGPT 4o answered this correctly.

Good thing the stackoverflow police finally closed my very unfocused question after nearly 16 years.

Hey @lyft what is this? I booked a ride home and got charged $30 for a 0-minute ride from SFO to SFO, but I was never in the car. I was still walking to the pickup spot.

I can’t dispute the charge because it was “all correct”.

Aurora somewhere over Quebec on the way to #ISC24 #hpc #solarstorm

Seems like you have to get a long exposure with your camera. Also the iPhone 15 camera was working way better than the iPhone 13 one, at least for the folks gathered around the window.

Apple maps trying to get me to turn onto an actual golf cart path to get to my hotel.

If you search for the hotel, it gets the right spot. This apparently came from the link I was sent by Concur.
