It's not clean cut, but it's honest, and as this trillion dollar industry (🫠) continues to boom (insert analogies for dangers of overgrowth) - transparency and accountability are imperative.

I also say this as someone who has learned from ppl who are not "professionals", who need to not be named for their safety & protection, who don't come with westernized certifications or websites or neat descriptions of services-

I say this as someone with lots of exp/mentors, but i wouldn't rec all of my teachers tbh. And I'm prepared to speak on that & any controversial training or sensitive topics that are rampant in this industry (think: cultural appropriation, so-called "shamanism", new modalities w/o lineages etc)

Imho, I'd rec a look into said certifications/institutions: do u feel aligned or need further info/clarity? Ex: someone trained to be a party clown, but if their training was geared towards adult parties (nothing wrong with that!)- u'd likely have more ?s before hiring them for a kids party. No?

Yes, part of the debate seems to be saying reiki, specifically, is not needed bc there are other forms of energy work. I don't doubt that for a second. But im seeing a lot of ppl saying they do energy work w/o training or certs etc, and therefore reiki is a scam.

Rejoice in your awakening and keep hold of your honest humility. Atone with gratitude. Uplift voices and show up for those who've been in deeper need for too long (mutual aid has been a thing for lifetimes, is it your time to check in?). We are always stronger when gathered intergenerationally.

Who've been living and working this for much, much, much longer than you. They have tools and community and teachings. Hard earned lessons, invaluable wisdom, and also? Are owed respect and so much more. I'm not saying go demand their labour- im saying:

But at the end of the day: I think it is ill advised to both practice and/or receive energy work that has no lineage. Even a recent lineage should move slowly imho. Ngl, I'm a lil concerned with where this might be headed, but I'll stay cautiously curious for now.

I want to hold curiosity here as to why and what instigated this. I think there are usually multiple truths, or at least; I'm a big fan of nuance. So I'm sure there are perspectives I'd agree with, but I'm also cautious & suspicious about the origins and pathway of this thinking.

What I'm seeing is ppl want to disregard the symbols & Usui teachings entirely. There's critique that the method unnecessarily gate kept smthg that is universal, that X,Y,Z group did before Usui "invented" it, that no one can be taught how to work energy... there's more, but this is what sticks out

Am i understanding correctly that you sought reiki for this bad situ but didn't feel any benefit, then the situ was resolved after a cord cutting session with a psychic? Had u had reiki before, w the same person?
