I think your analogy is holding up pretty well: The interstate is closed for hours. You can either miss your delivery entirely or drive your semi on surface streets and be late.

From an integrity standpoint, I'd ban it for football and tennis too. I'd ban it outright anyway because betting on hockey point spreads means you are a danger to yourself and others.

Reforms, most to least important:
1. Bets are moneyline W/L only
2. Leagues can't accept revenue derived from a firm that accepts bets on that sport (aka, DraftKings can't put ads on Fox during NFL games)
3. Parlays & rewards are banned
4. Bets have to be placed in-person using cash or a debit card

NON. POSSESSION. SPECIFIC.

I would not put it past them to introduce a new product called the ColorLine™️
