Found this article in Music Week dated 10 Oct 92: 30 Sep sounds likely for Automatic For The People. And 7 Oct for Prince’s Symbol, not 13 Oct as is commonly believed.

Usually has a few localish Sussex, Surrey or Kent ales on as well. Very good to see it’s being supported by local council too, and won pub of the year poll organised by local MP who mentioned it in Parliament. Fantastic job being done there.

Was looking through scans of old Melody Makers and NMEs, the date of Oct 5 was initially corroborated, but it looks as if they brought the release date forward as this was in the NME week ending Oct 3 (so out in newsagents on Sep 30).
