Adrift in the Anthropocene
The family went off to Prague last weekend leaving me tasked with keeping the animals alive for the duration. We borrowed a cage for Tiny Ted so that he wouldn't electrocute himself while I was at work. It didn't seem to phase him in the slightest. But then, Graham was there to keep him company.

Mark Arm looks like Bob from Twin Peaks.

Anyway, giggage. Here's the Chimers. Excellent two-piece (hence low cost) support.

It's Scotland in the middle of November. This big guy shouldn't have been outside.

Had attempted to to stay home this weekend. Failed. Am arriving home now after going out on Friday. I need to sleep. Good seats, though.

Our local supermarket has started selling eggs in open trays to cut down on packaging. This will mean a saving for all households that don't have a cat that eats egg boxes.

Graham posing like a kipper.

Graham's finally sitting in a box like a proper cat. He's also started playing chase with Tiny Ted the puppy in the garden. I think he's trying to entice him out into the main road.

The Rants were supporting. I'd certainly have no issues with going to see them again. Good emo stuff.

Friday was the first time I've been to the new Bungalow in Paisley. What an excellent venue! And the Primevals are on the form of their lives! Honestly, this gig and the New Christs a couple of weeks ago have moved into my top-ten favourite gigs.

Well, I've scratched that itch.

Both bands on top form.

Wow. Just wow. That was one of the best gigs I have ever seen.

Don't normally drink lagers, but it is summer.

Excellent gig in one of my least-favourite Glasgow venues. The Sting-Rays were much, much better than I expected, having previously only a brief familiarity with their early eighties stuff.

A bit blingier than I thought they'd be -- and the irony of the courier's alert saying 'Please secure all pets' wasn't lost on me -- but here we are.

Cat proof.

The image I shall use for age verification.

Kinda disappointed. I was hoping for some sort of hoppy monstrosity that I could rant about, but it's basically just Irn Bru.

I think I bought ice-creams off one of the Young Offenders.

And the Sex Pistols. Frank Carter is magnificent. A great fit for the band. Can't believe this is the only photo I can find on my phone. I may have been making sure I didn't get dehydrated by this stage.

The Stranglers. Probably seen them more times than every other band on this bill put together. I can even remember when they were briefly an eight-piece featuring only one member of the current lineup.

The Undertones. Only band I hadn't seen before. Derry Boys. Bloody brilliant.
