2) The political statement of Jesus was to love & die for enemies. It wasn’t simply a death to pay for sins. It was a vision of a new way of living that leads one to love their ENEMIES sacrificially. That is how the world is changed in Jesus’ kingdom.

1) The political statement of the state was to kill and/or silence enemies. The Romans hated their enemies and committed acts of political violence. Their way of changing the world was imposing their will and destroying their enemies. (Clue: you don’t have to kill people to embody this).
