got to visit the Fox Lot and One Step Up, one of the best Foley studios in the world. I also somehow ended up leaving the gift shop with a Simpsons production cell

Last day of the break and my mom absolutely knocked out the Yoshitaka Amano puzzle. she told me it’s one of the hardest ones she’s done in recent memory but an enjoyable challenge

My mom is a puzzle fanatic and I unfortunately get a nasty headache whenever we play. i’m trying to spend more time with her on so in an effort to engage more deeply, I bought her an early Christmas gift of nearly every Yoshitaka Amano Final Fantasy jigsaw puzzle.

My mom is a puzzle fanatic and I unfortunately get a nasty headache whenever we play. i’m trying to spend more time with her on so in an effort to engage more deeply, I bought her an early Christmas gift of nearly every Yoshitaka Amano Final Fantasy jigsaw puzzle.
Years and years later, after I came out and started transitioning, I wanted to pay tribute to how Foley gave me so much space to handle my gender identity. while these waveforms were from a different, more sonically pleasing pair, I got them tattooed in red. my pair of red pumps, forever clacking

fun story, when I was a junior in film school, I nervously went down to a drag/crossdressing boutique on St. Mark’s Place to pick out my first pair of heels: these size 11.5w pumps, “sound effects I swear”.

While I was in Australia and Japan, I kept an eye on Valentino’s Paris Fashion Week show. Twigs killed it, and it was an honor to consult with her and her team about the sound of dirt and sand. I couldn’t fly out to London for rehearsals, so we brought in Molinaire’s Foley team who saved the day!!

visiting Toho Studios left me in a daze. We got to sit on the mix stage where Shin Godzilla got finalized and the Foley stage where Rebuild of Evangelion was walked. The Toho Foley team were so clearly dedicated and passionate. The millennial and gen-z Foley artists are coming into maturity!

Amazing visiting our sound design teammates in Japan, development partners at Kojima Productions, and Foley brethren at Toho Studios. What an absolutely fantastic trip so far. And yes, I really like posing as iconic mascots!!

uggghhh (wakes up from social media slumber) time to give the content machine what it wants. Had to do the sound of a slice (FaASCHING) ending in a pole hit (THWAAP) against dozens of objects. The real spear we had was physically difficult to do this, so I MacGrubber-ed a better sounding prop
