Does Starmer fight with one hand behind his back?

Exactly. Thats why the presidential election outcomes don’t tell you much about the extent and depth of racist attitudes in the electorate. And certainly not unique to the US.
December 3, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Why do you think 2/3 of the electorate had a negative opinion of him in 2016? It wasn’t the price of groceries.

Even on issues with the most racial subtext (crime, immigration, foreign affairs) Trump is now underwater.
December 3, 2025 at 12:23 PM
That’s true. And as a consequence there is a solid block of the electorate that would never vote for him. For others “being a racist” may have been a negative, but too much of an abstraction to a dealbreaker. Seeing Trump perform racism in very concrete ugly ways may be having a different effect.
December 3, 2025 at 12:22 PM
No doubt that contributes to it too, but why assume the racism has no negative impact? What’s the evidence for that?
December 3, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Are you sure there is no cost? Trump’s popularity is in accelerating decline and all indications suggest a GOP bloodbath in the midterms.
December 3, 2025 at 11:42 AM
Yes they should. But that risks a constitutional crisis. Judges, being generally risk averse, will want to exhaust other possibilities first.
December 1, 2025 at 6:05 PM
I’m sure that would turn out well.

Normally if a federal judge were to order someone arrested, the order would be carried out by the US Marshal’s Service. The head of the US Marshal’s service reports to Attorney General Pam Bondi, who seems to have no problem with ignoring federal judicial orders.

I got the same thing from my insurer offering Sword’s competitor Hinge. The PT I go to bills the insurer at $288/hr so pretty obvious it would cost them less if I used Hinge instead.
