Whoever does this, the way I think of them is as illustrated in the Faeries book by Brian Stroud and Alan Moore (a beloved uncle gave that and the Gnomes book to us one Christmas).

I do believe that I forgot to share Cookie in her Halloween costume. We only had two kids for trick-or-treat (plus parents, all in costume), and she needs to be appreciated more widely.

Cookie is 8 months old now. I am dog-sitting for a neighbor, so we are hosting a 4-month-old miniature Australian shepherd puppy (Sylvie) and her 10-year-old sister (Roxanne). For the first couple of days it was nonstop wrestling. Now, Cookie has pretty much decided that puppies are exhausting.

Had to go to the Subaru dealership for service, and of course Cookie came with. They really do love dogs there (and she was very well-behaved, not even for a puppy just a Very Good Dog until we got home, then after a nap all bets were off).

Cookie had lots of adventures today. Obedience class, the groomer for a bath, and then errands. Lots of walking practice and reinforcing house training as at 7 months less 2 days she is regressing. The halter is new and is wondrous (while not hurting her at all).

Cookie had her first class in beginner obedience training at PetSmart. I should saw we had our first class, because this is as much for me as for her. The trainer said “you’re going to have your hands full with this one” and, yes. (This is because she’s mostly Mountain Cur, very independent breed).

Bowie is another outdoor kitty who came inside with zero regrets. He would not have a puppy to play wrestle with nor a human to purr on had he stayed outside. (He’s forcibly grooming Cookie’s face here)

Cookie would win gold in losing puppy teeth - she lost 4 within a few minutes on Saturday.
