I remember Ethan Hawke saying that Before Sunrise is still talked about, much more so than many award-winning films from the same year. As he poetically put it: "Time is the best critic."

It's a very specific metric. Like, nearly half a million people in Ireland watch Fair City but I've yet to see FC cosplay (sadly).

We tried the live action one a while ago, and my daughter started crying at the donkey bit so we had to turn it off.

"No cultural impact" is impossible to quantify and is completely anecdotal! It basically means "me and my pals dont talk about it".
