I was waiting for #meetthewebcomic Day to introduce White Noise to the new folks here! May I offer you a webcomic about queer monsters and trying times in this trying time?

Arc 1 is all done so there's a whole archive to binge before I start updating again on December 8!

They sell it as a scribe tool even though making inferences is not what a scribe does. Dragon Medical already exists for transcription purposes. I could strangle someone.
If this is the Abridge “”scribe”” tool this is not the first time I’ve seen this happen. Talked to a PAS recently who had to help a patient whose benefits were put in danger by AI deciding he was employed.
a few months ago I said "having generative AI handle absolutely anything with regards to healthcare is a nightmare and should be banned" and a bunch of people made fun of me and called me stupid. anyways,

I love to teach myself a new skill and be kinda bad at it. Top ten human experiences for me personally
Actually I think I can do this. This turned out p okay considering the only embroidery I’ve done before was some sashiko for mending, and that this t shirt scrap fabric sucks

God this guy sounds more and more like Andrew Cunanan every day
It’s happening again, exactly as the rain hit, right on time 😔

"Bury him face down." This barn burner of an obit might feel hyperbolic to people who entered the world in the wake of 9/11; it's not. Cheney was one of the architects of today's American Christian conservatism. He was directly responsible for millions of deaths. Salt the earth where he's buried.

Oh yeah, huh...given how many booktok authors seem to have been fanfic writers first, maybe there's a connection there.
Not bc of the dual first person (although I didn't like that much either) but because the writing was so Joss Whedon-y and the worldbuilding so instantly corny-not-in-a-fun-way that I was like. Well this little experiment has ended here, time to read The Magic Circle again
Example: I had never seen dual first-person POV before I picked up one of these type deals at the library, but I guess it's common in romance nowadays? Has it always been?? I don't think this one was a romance, but I DNF'd it almost immediately bc I disliked it so much after a chapter and a half
I don't use Tiktok and my circle sort of only overlaps with author socmed so I'm pretty unfamiliar with the kind of weird poorly written booktok stuff that gets published until I accidentally pick one up, and it's incredibly baffling without context tbh
lmfao this has come back to haunt me via my YT recs. Did not realize that this book ripped off The Witcher (never watched it) but that explains why that part of the book felt so out of place. Also, turns out, there was no pro editor, and the author refused constructive criticism, which tracks.
I'm reading The Night and Its Moon rn (not YA as it turns out lol) and I have a lot of issues with it, but the biggest is the lack of editing. You could easily trim 1/3 of it just by removing the repetitive/drawn out descriptions. It really feels like only the first chunk got that treatment at all.
