Although it’s the first week of the legislative session, I’ll be heading home to Las Cruces this weekend, and organizing a ride on Saturday at 2p. Hope you can join! Let’s not forget what brings us joy in the midst of so much despair: community and bikes ✌🏼

PPP by Beachhouse is the last thing I needed to hear before I left my beloved casita. 😭😭
Here’s two months of packing for a legislative session in Santa Fe.
Leaving Las Cruces is always so hard. But here we go.

Today flew, and it’s not good because it means I’m closer to leaving Las Cruces for sesh.

Catching up on #cyclocross races (ESP women’s) every night this holiday season, has been the highlight of my break. Gonna miss this routine. And holy heck, that slop today. 😅

Great turnout for League of Women Voters of S. New Mexico, & their end of year Legis luncheon. Thanks to DACC for providing the space at the workforce training center. Had an opportunity to share my priorities for upcoming legislative session. Follow me here & www.rubionm35.com for those updates.

As I sit down to write my latest post for the Rubio Dispatch, I found this during my trip home to Lake Arthur this weekend. I was legit! 😅

Yep! Hopefully this upcoming session is finally the year we pass it! The senate is what’s holding us up. Call your senators.

Made it home to Lake Arthur for the first time in a minute. Spending time with my sister, Rosy, and my parents, this time around, was a nourishing one. 🙏🏼

Woke up in a hotel room in Artesia, New Mexico, to the smell of the oil refinery just down the street—which once had such a bad rap, that the town would later market it as the “sweet smell of success.” In all the years I grew up near here, this is my first time waking up with a sweet ass headache.

Lead a group ride today, to re-group post election.
Moral of the story: don’t let these fools take away our joy.
Find your people.
Be hard on systems, and soft on our neighbors (last line borrowed from Linda Sarsour 🫶🏼)

Went on a thirty miler night ride, guided by the super moon, and almost forgot our reality.

👋🏼 TY all for following! I’m Angelica from Las Cruces, born/raised in beautiful NM, to Mexican immigrant parents who instilled in me a love for community. I find that in my biking, as well as in the constituents I’ve had the privilege of serving the last 8yrs. Hope to find it here too ✌🏼
