All the metal journalist/niche underground group chats have been pretty excited about it

They're absolutely amazing! (Got to see them live 2 weeks ago somehow) It’s just funny because they're one of the few "mysterious" bands I really love, for that Bardo interview to be so dumb and reveal what big dorks they are. That site is generally awful, tho aside from the humor it gives us.

I think of something like that Bardo Methodology interview with Portal from like 8 years ago which just makes them seem like overly pretentious theater kids who are way too confident in their own importance

Seeing the vast majority of the community just ignoring/defending bad design under the banner of "git gud" is wild. I like challenging games, but a lot of Silksong's difficulty feels unfair in a way that Hollow Knight never did

On the way back from a show recently, "The Book of Heavy Metal" by Dream Evil came on from shuffle. What an absolute ridiculous and emphatically \m/ band. Great episode and loved hearing you guys articulate the "cringe" factor that prevented me from enjoying power metal for so long.

I got super into BTBAM before I even knew what avant-garde metal was, so for the longest time, I just associated the "wierd genre stuff + heavy guitars with them." It wasn't until later that I realized their vocalist was a huge Bungle fan, and it all made sense.

I find they're two entirely different processes with different things I find fulfilling. A great live show is awesome, but most of them aren't, and especially at an underground level, can feel like work for work's sake, wheras making music is always amazing.

Absolutely gutted. Cobalt were so important to me and my friends when it came to black metal in general and the ideas of literature and metal... A sad loss.

What wild spirit could thrive on such pain? What primal will would cling to this place?

The Bad Wolves cover of this classic is definitely one of the worst AND funniest "popular" covers to hit rock radio. Amazing hearing American chuds place the Irish troubles in the context of a contemporary culture war.
