Shortchanged by their clubs, Scottish football fans are demonised by politicians, admonished by media and targeted by police.

On Nest of Fearties, Derek Watson and Paul Quigley ask why.

There’s a funny back and forth in this episode about whether Labour are grifters or they have an ideological project.

I’d say being a political grifter is participating in an ideological project!

Absolutely loved this. So rare to get this level of analysis that's specific to Scotland and its dysfunctional unhappy status quo, its industrial strategy caught between inaction and apathy. A great listen.

Bathgate no more. Lindwood no more. Grangemouth no more. Now, Larbert no more?

After the news of Alexander Dennis' closure, @rosiehampton.bsky.social and @ewangibbs.bsky.social ponder whether Scotland is witnessing another unjust transition.

@theskotia.bsky.social podcasts are a welcome oasis of left-leaning Scottish politics amongst a lot of anodyne centrist podcasts. Good to hear from yourself and @ewangibbs.bsky.social on such an important topic today.

I read a lot of books about economics and history from people on the left, but this episode was really helpful in understanding all of the niche factors that play into/against nationalisation and transition away from carbon-intensive industries.

Def worth a listen!

Enjoyed chatting to environmental campaigner and trade unionist @rosiehampton.bsky.social about Scotland's unjust transition, the multinationals who dominate our economy and how we build an energy system that works for workers and citizens. You can listen here ⬇️

Reading regular news sources about what's going on with the Ferries is insanely mud-slingy and unhelpful. This episode is so good because you can actually figure out the root of the problem.

Unsurprisingly, the problem isn't public ownership. The problem is not enough public ownership.
