Old. Married to Christine. English living in the Highlands of Scotland, family problems and disputes mean we may end our days in bloomin' Hampshire now! Not even a tiny bit right-wing. I write, give film opinions, paint and design stuff.
I've said this before, if I was an enemy of the USA I would load up a few agents with some horrible disease/virus, get them off 'holiday-making' in the States, coughing on people, touching everything they could....especially in airports and bus stations.

Under this administration, it would work.

You dim Chris? Shurely shome mishtake?

I like her acting to be fair - even stuff that's not so good she always puts in a good shift.

I'm sure there's more than a few, unfortunately, like most countries' militaries they are outnumbered

My dad put it on the living room wall, it was there for years. A social worker visiting asked who it was, he told her saying his son had painted it. She was amazed, said I must be a famous artist 🤣

Good cast - and it's a 2013 film that I HAVEN'T WATCHED! The REAL Film Cricket will put this right 😍

Fun Fact: Hailee Steinfeld 'liked' my painting of Jeff Bridges Rooster Cogburn but never noticed or 'liked' my painting of her as Mattie Ross (on Twatter years ago) 🤣

Thank goodness you have people like that in your country then and now. we all need more. I posted this on another feed; here's a painting I did of my late dad at 18 in the Royal Navy in WW2. He was out with your fellas in '45 stationed as a young lad on King George V fighting the Japanese.

You're very kind - me and @jameschristopher.bsky.social try our best 😄

I painted this picture of him as an 18 year during the war in his Royal Navy uniform and he pinned it up on the living room where it stayed for years until he had to come and live with us so I could care for him...

Was a fun/interesting chap - not perfect, but who is - he lived a life that's for sure. I worked with him on the construction site of Sizewell B in his retirement month - he was still on the tools (electrician) and we worked two weeks a time, 12-14 hour days, every other weekend off.

Funny really, my dad was a WW2 veteran brought up on Millbank's estate in 'Yorkshire' in the 20s/30s and he was a lefty - in the Royal Navy they were a bit more that way - and as he got older he got more left and more left.

He died at a month short of 94 and he was never even a tiny bit right-wing

Same as about 6 weeks ago - this will now affect my painting and film stuff - I am so affected I can't do anything, on top of worrying about my wife and even my health. She is convinced I'll have a heart attack. Sometimes life sucks big style.

It didn't go well Pablo at all. Really bad.

But I have learned I'm the world's biggest a-hole.

Manipulative, 'story-teller' and I got told to 'shut-up' a lot.

All good here Tom, it is a bit much from what I've read and you are too nice a bloke to be mixing about with that lot. Great to see you keeping busy, keep it up mate. We need more Tom Bennett to watch!

If you watched this when you were a youngster like me, it is still the most enjoyable show you have seen, everything is funny and fun. The happy feeling and memories this brings back - for me - and yes I admit maybe just me - it is priceless.

I hope Kenneth Cope is wearing his white suit now.

I think I quite like Blade Runner - there's also another painting of Rachael I did but it was so bad I won't show it 🤣
December 2, 2025 at 9:45 PM
Also I must apologise for not being on your feed more often. It is interesting and covers so much that interests me that I must pop by every day from now on.

You seem similar to me when it comes to watching films!

My poor wife - who has mental problems due to SIADH from a cancer operation - is so stressed out that it is affecting her thought processes.

Thank you - we've been together for over 30 years - she's had to cope with me that whole time, I know we'll be fine 😊
December 2, 2025 at 9:38 PM
It'll take time but the good memories will take over. Amicable sounds like you were both sensible with an agreed decision. So many don't. I'm sure you'll be okay.

My wife's daughter and husband are coming around tomorrow to discuss our 'relationship' - wish us luck. Don't think it will end well.

Just for you - I painted this recently - name the TV show - as a kid and young lad I liked it as much as the things you've done....
December 2, 2025 at 9:23 PM
@newmanstings.bsky.social today I just went on your feed & thought 'aah Tom's left here.' Do you know how chuffed I am to see you posting? I'm sure you don't remember me but we used to chat at times on Twatter - I think I was The Real Film Cricket on there but I left as soon as Mustrat took over. 😊
December 2, 2025 at 9:21 PM
No idea if it was on in Australia Fred, it probably was. When I watched it after my older brother told me about it as a very young lad, it hooked me and I couldn't get enough of it. That has stuck with me into my 60s! I had to paint it.
November 29, 2025 at 6:13 PM
I stick this on my design work - it would spoil my paintings a bit though...
November 29, 2025 at 12:19 PM
@dallasgoldtooth.bsky.social it's not brilliant I admit but I did it because I loved the show and your character so much....and you seem like a good chap too!
