This can be one of the most daunting challenges for memoirists. Come learn about the many possibilities that might inspire your own structure! We will look at 13 (maybe more) distinct and unique memoirs and examine how authors have broken out of (or stayed within) traditional boundaries. Students will read and analyze a variety of memoir excerpts, and practice generative writing with their own material. At the end of the course, students will have many tools at their fingertips and be better able to make creative decisions to find a structure that is "just right" for them.
