It's tough to find acceptance, compassion and love in the world especially right now. It's easy to be drawn into the narratives of fear, gloom and hopelessness. So anything I share is in the hope of helping someone else find a way through, a trail left for an unknown person, a Light in the dark.

Years ago I had either a mystical experience or a mental health crisis, your means of description will be based on your perspective, but either way it was a powerful event. I voluntarily went to a psych hospital and intake note said: "claims to be Jesus." Just about the most unpopular thing to say!

I have inadvertently named my video game characters after the aspects of the Tree of Life, sephiroth and sephirah, before learning they were old words and doing a deep dive on Kabbalah and what the words meant. The joke at the time was I had plucked the name from FF7 but I hadn't played it yet.

As far back as I can remember the words Alpha and Omega have rattled around in my consciousness. Surely linked in part to cultural context and upbringing but decades later those words have persisted.

In modern times the book says: "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world..."
Another popular one: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Over and over again the theme repeats and we find The Light as central to the story.

This is another one from grandma and grandpa. It went into a box for a very long time, but I didn't let it go. This is surprising because throughout life, I've let go of almost every physical possession that's come my way. These days, Jesus is a polarizing topic, but this was my life and family.

My maternal grandparents ended up caught in the religious estrangement, but in their way, I know they loved us anyway especially grandma.
She recorded children's books on tape and sent them to us, and it was heartwarming. 🤍
