Congratulations to Geoffrey W. Coates for being the recipient of the 2026 ACS Award in Polymer Chemistry! Dr. Coates, a member of The Welch Foundation Scientific Advisory Board, focuses on the development of new synthetic strategies for producing polymers of defined structure.

Endowed Chair Hongcai Zhou and @tamu.bsky.social researchers designed a two-step MOF calcination that selectively generates two features that cannot be simultaneously obtained in a single-step calcination, namely, high porosity and a single iron oxide phase. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

PI's David Powers and Osvaldo Gutierrez along with researchers at @tamu.bsky.social demonstrate that while diphosphorus complexes can arise from reactive M–P species, P–P coupling can also proceed directly from M–PCO species without the intermediacy of M–P complexes. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
