“Never use fragments.” Nonsense. Fragments mimic thought, hesitation, urgency. “And then silence.” That brevity says more than a polished clause ever could. Rule-breaking works when intention is louder than convention.

Every “rule” has an exception. Double negatives? Useful in dialogue. Split infinitives? Sometimes more precise. Sentence-ending prepositions? Natural in speech. The trick: know the rule, then break it to serve rhythm, tone, or truth.
