It might work differently with watercolour but w oils I’m basically either wiping away with a rag or a brush w solvent, or adding more pigment. It feels almost like a sculptural process, and I really like it. It’s also made me better about checking my proportions using the brush/pencil 👍

Oh I’m glad! The technique is completely different to how I usually draw - I’m either gridding things out, or doing a lot of stuff with guidelines. My teacher encouraged me to just start with a general silhouette and use shapes of different values to render the subject.
