i think the reason it's so strong is because it sounds like its exactly what he wanted to make. theres not an aim or a trend i can find. theres not an angle or an ambition beyond "i want to make whatvi want to make and make it WELL"

the Cameron Winter album has been giving me so much hope. its like, an honest to god, old school singer-songwriter album at it's core, but its totally modern and scrappy too. just some of the most earnest and vulnerable stuff i've heard in ages.
